I Paid Off My School Loan

I was so excited to become a nurse. However, in the back of my mind, I had this building fear of the debt I was accumulating while going to school. How would I ever pay it off?

I had $65,000 in school loans. I thought I’d carry that debt with me for the rest of my life. It made me scared and anxious to think that instead of buying a house and planning for my future, I was chained to my past and paying off my debt.

I worked for seven years as an RN and continued to make my student loan payments. My mom, Chrissy, could see it was such a burden for me. She sat me down and said she wanted to help me but that I needed to be committed to getting out of debt and following the plan. As she took me through the 101 Financial steps and supported me through her coaching, I started to feel a heavy weight lift off my shoulders.

Through the 101 Financial program, I was able to pay off half of my remaining student loan debt in just 4 months and I paid it off completely just 1 year after starting the program. It brings me to tears when I think of how different my life is now. I have a baby girl and I’m saving to buy a home. I’m confident I’ll succeed because I now understand how to make a budget, follow a plan, and make my money work for me. Thank you, Mom. This is the BEST gift you could have given me.

Parents, if you have young adult children, I highly recommend getting them involved with 101 Financial through my mom. She’s an amazing instructor, so patient and understanding, but also really knows her way around money.

I cannot express enough gratitude!
